After over 17 years at 1212 Weathervane Ln, and with much prayer and consideration, we have made the heartfelt and difficult decision to close our Akron location.

Valley Cafe Wadsworth remains open.

As we considered our age, energy levels, and our future, (including those precious grandbabies) it became clear that it is time to consolidate our efforts.

As we wrestled with how to make this transition, our main concern was our staff. But then God. God answered and provided us a miraculous answer! (He is in the miracle business, after all.)

Our landlord’s son, Andy—who once worked here as a kid when this was a donut shop—approached us about opening his own breakfast-and-lunch spot here called The Towpath Grille AND keeping our staff!!

Win-win-win. Our team stays employed, the neighborhood keeps a restaurant with many of your familiar menu items, and we can step into a new season with peace.

Our last day of service at 1212 Weathervane Ln will be this Sunday, September 28.

We invite you to celebrate with us this Saturday and Sunday, September 27–28. Come share memories, hugs, and good food. Both Chef BJ and Nicole, along with our amazing team, and the new owners, Andy and Hadley, will be here to celebrate this transition with you, as one chapter closes and another one opens at 1212 Weathervane Ln.

And don’t worry, if you’re craving your Valley Cafe favorites, Valley Cafe Restaurant, Wadsworth remains open and is a quick drive away! Gift cards and loyalty points can be used at both Valley Cafe Wadsworth or DOLCE at the Strand.

With gratitude and appreciation to you, our loyal guests who have returned with friends for years, we can't thank you enough. We appreciate learning your stories, being part of your celebrations and traditions. Thank you for embracing our dream of gathering people around the table with delicious made from scratch food with inspiring hospitality in a community approach to business.
